How It Works:

Upon selecting a computer for activation, Wake-on-LAN broadcasts a specialized UDP data frame on the LAN. Once the dormant computer detects the data frame, it initiates the wake-up process. In cases where the controlling device (iPhone or iPad) is on a different network like 3G, configuring the HOME router to forward the specific UDP package becomes necessary.
